Sacyr Construcción has been present in the United Kingdom since 2014, when Sacyr Somague was awarded the Ulster University expansion project, in a joint venture (JV).
In 2018, another JV, in this case partnered by Sacyr Construcción UK and Sacyr Somague, was awarded the project for expansion and dualling of the A6 motorway section between Drumahoe and Dungiven.
In March 2019, the group acquired its third contract in the United Kingdom, in this case through a JV partnered by Sacyr Construcción UK and Sacyr Neopul.
This is the Edinburgh Tram expansion, on the stretch from York Place to Newhaven.
