Sacyr Neopul started its activity in 1983. In 1989 it began to develop its railway skills by carrying out its first railway project for CP, in Portugal..

In 2002, it was integrated into the Somague Group, a situation that would definitely boost its growth and internationalization.

In the following year, the necessary qualifications are obtained for the development of railway works in Spain. Also in 2003, it was incorporated into the Sacyr Group. The activity developed in Spain had its main significant milestone in 2005, with the completion of its first High Speed contract.

The internationalization objectives were not only focused on the Spanish market, reaching other markets over time.

This was the case in Ireland in 2007, where it has been developing several railway specialty contracts since then, both for construction and maintenance, renewing successive maintenance contracts in the catenary specialty for Irish Rail.

The linguistic proximity made Sacyr Neopul's entry into several markets a natural process.

Thus, 2011 marks the entry into Brazil. Within the track specialty, several renovation, maintenance and construction works were carried out that allowed the consolidation of its presence in this market. The strategy followed allowed participation in the execution of three lots on the North-South Railway.

In 2013 it took place the entry in Mozambique, with the execution of the Ferrovia do Corredor de Nacala  project for Vale, characterized as the largest rail project in Mozambique.

Back in the old continent, the year 2016 was marked with the entry of Sacyr Neopul in the UK market, obtaining all the necessary certifications to work and materialize its presence in this market with the realization of the Edimburgh Tram Project, York Place to Newhaven.

More recently, in 2019, Uruguay became the last market in which Sacyr Neopul operates, where it participates in the execution of the Proyecto Ferrocarril Central.

The presence in different international markets is only possible through the high technical qualifications held by Sacyr Neopul, both in terms of its equipment and its human resources, which give it the possibility to compete and execute the most complex projects in the field of railway infrastructures.

More than three decades in the different rail markets have enabled Sacyr Neopul to carry out a considerable number of projects, which ensure an accumulation of experiences that contribute to Sacyr Neopul's competences in all aspects of design, construction, renovation and maintenance in the specialties of Track and Overhead Catenary System (OCS), establishing that within the Sacyr Group universe, Sacyr Neopul is the company specialized in railway infrastructures.
