Detal Project – Puente Mayorga

Improvement of the Puente Mayorga Chemical Plant (Cepsa) to increase production to 250 kta.
First chemical plant in Spain to use Detal-Plus technology. It is also the first Linear Alkylbenzene (LAB) factory in the world to replace hydrofluoric acid (HF) technology with Detal-Plus, a safer, more efficient, and sustainable process that optimizes the efficient use of raw materials and electricity and eliminates emissions and waste generation (1,100 tons per year). This technological advance also reduces water consumption by 80,000 m3 per year and improves the quality and versatility of Linear Alkylbenzene (LAB), the raw material for the production of biodegradable detergents, which is produced at this plant.
